John Booz is a Chicago based,  Photojournalist  and Documentary Photographer.

His work has appeared in The Chicago Tribune Newspaper, The Chicago Sun Times,The New York Times, Time/People, Magazine, Chicago Magazine, The Ring Magazine, CATALYST Journal, and many others.

He is a regular contributor to HBO Sports, The Chicago Sun Times, FightNews.com, Agence France-Presse, as well as other educational publishers. His regular clients include The Chicago Board Of Education,The University of Chicago, De Paul University, Educational Leadership Magazine-ASCD, and various others.

Mr. Booz was educated in photography at the Art Institute of Chicago, where his love of Black and White Social Documentary photography was developed. He has had One Man Exhibits of his Social Documentary- “Land Of Milk and Honey”, at The University of Chicago School of Social Services, De Paul University Center For the Black Diaspora, Helix Corporation Gallery Space, and Artemesia Gallery.

He is currently at work on a documentary book on Mexican Rodeo and Charros in Chicago,having devoted himself to the subject for the past ten years. The artist has traveled widely to as varied places as Russia, Cuba, Mexico, and Ireland, and has compiled archives of photos from his visits. He is a fluent speaker of Spanish, and an avid sports enthusiast who swims and bicycles regularly.
